This return route starts at Hokubōdai, the upper lift terminal at Tengendai Kogen, and reaches the 2,035-metre summit of Mount Nishiazuma via Kamoshika Observatory and the high moorland near the summit. It crosses wetlands dotted with ponds and alpine plants, continues from the forested summit to Nishi-Azuma Emergency Hut, and then returns to Hokubōdai.
