This out-and-back route climbs from Grandeco's Urabandai Ropeway upper station through beech and Maries' fir forest, crosses panoramic Nishi-Daiten, and continues to Mount Nishi-Azuma. Nishi-Daiten overlooks Mount Bandai, Lake Inawashiro, and Urabandai's lakes; beyond it, boardwalks cross upland wetlands past the emergency hut to the forest-enclosed 2,035-metre summit.
