This pilgrimage follows the designated path from the Mount Miwa entrance beside Sai Shrine to the upper part of the mountain, then returns the same way. Mount Miwa itself is revered as the sacred embodiment of Omiwa Shrine, so the ascent is an act of worship rather than an ordinary recreational hike.
