This highland return hike goes from Michi-no-Eki Utsukushigahara through Mount Ushibuse, Yamamoto Hut, and Utsukushi-no-to to Mount Ogato (2,034 m), the highest point of Utsukushigahara. Utsukushi-no-to is the tower whose bell was once rung in fog, and the route crosses open pastureland and plateau paths. Mount Ogato looks toward the Northern Alps, Yatsugatake, and Mount Fuji.
