This return hike begins at Bessho parking area, passes Hikosan Jingu Hoheiden, and climbs the stone steps of the Omotesando Trail to Naka-dake and the mountaintop Jogu shrine. The historic pilgrimage path links Shimo-miya, Naka-miya, Gyojado and other sites associated with Mount Hiko’s tradition of mountain asceticism.
