Maeguro Ski Area Closed
Official name 前黒スキー場
Tochigi
Open 1960–1978
Maeguro Ski Area used the north-facing slope of Mt. Maeguro, south of Shin-yu Onsen and near the Oku-Shiobara camp site in the former town of Shiobara, now Nasushiobara, Tochigi. It opened in December 1960 and got its ski lift in 1963. With one lift, a rope tow, a hut and a canteen, it was a beginners' hill that ran from late December to mid-March, and it closed in 1978 because of poor snow.
