Kasuga Chojadaira Ski Area Closed

Official name 春日長者平スキー場

Gifu

Closed in 2008

Kasuga Chojadaira Ski Area was a small hill on the eastern slopes of Mt. Kaitsuki in the former village of Kasuga, now part of Ibigawa in western Gifu. Reached by a mountain road off Route 417, it had one pair lift, two single lifts and eight runs, with night skiing under lights. In its later years it struggled with poor snowfall, barely opened in the 2007-08 season, and closed when its operating company filed for bankruptcy in March 2008. The lifts have been removed; some base buildings, a few lift foundations and the night-skiing light poles remain on the site.
