Mt. Takane

Mt. Takane (871 m) rises on the border between Fujieda and Shimada cities in Shizuoka Prefecture, and as the highest peak in Fujieda is included in the Shizuoka 100 Mountains list. The Tōkai Nature Trail crosses just west of the summit and the route is maintained by the city as the official "Tōkai Nature Trail – Takane-san Course." Several of the prefecture's largest trees — the Hanesaki great cedar, the Takane Kumano Shrine cedar, and the Imoanado Marukashi oak — together with Uto-mine Falls in the eastern valley line the trail, and a viewpoint just west of the summit looks out toward Mt. Fuji and Suruga Bay.
