Shiroyama (locally known as Nanao-jōyama) is a roughly 380 m peak in Furushiro-machi, Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture, famed as the site of Nanao Castle — the seat of the Noto Hatakeyama family during the Sengoku period. Spanning about 2.5 km north–south and 1 km east–west, the ruins rank among Japan's Five Great Mountain Castles and were famously taken by Uesugi Kenshin in 1577. The site is designated a National Historic Site and selected as one of the Continued 100 Famous Castles of Japan. The Shiroyama Lookout at the summit, located at the third-class triangulation point "Komatsubara" (379.47 m), offers sweeping views of Nanao Bay, the city, and the seven ridges that gave the city its name. The peak appears in the Mountains of Ishikawa (Bunken-tozan-guide volume) and the Hundred Mountains of Hokuriku.
