Mt. Kinubari

A 122 m hill on the east side of Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, whose name comes from a legend that Minamoto no Yoritomo had it draped in white silk on a hot summer day to suggest a snow-covered peak. Its open summit offers fine views of the Kamakura townscape, Sagami Bay and Mt. Fuji, and the Kinubari-yama Hiking Course is often combined with visits to Sugimoto-dera and Hokoku-ji. The Shakado-kiridoshi pass on its south side is currently closed for landslide-prevention work through fiscal 2026, leaving the Sengen-yama trailhead as the only open access.
