Mt. Iimori

Mt. Iimori is a 314 m summit on the border of Daitō and Shijōnawate Cities at the north end of the Ikoma Mountains in Osaka Prefecture. The crest carries the ruins of Iimori Castle, principal seat of the Sengoku warlord Miyoshi Nagayoshi — at roughly 700 m north-south and 400 m east-west, one of western Japan's largest medieval mountain castles, now a National Historic Site and one of the Zoku Nihon 100 Castles. On clear days the panorama reaches the Akashi-Kaikyō Bridge, the Rokkō Range and Awaji Island. Maintained trails link Nozaki Kannon (Jigen-ji Temple) on the Daitō side with Shijōnawate Shrine to the north. Listed in the Osaka 50 Mountains.
