Mt. Hijiriyama

Hijiriyama is a 60 m hill in the Toyooka area of Tomiura, Minamibōsō City, Chiba Prefecture — the site of Okamoto Castle, a stronghold of the Satomi clan who ruled Awa Province in the Sengoku period. Made the clan's main castle under Satomi Yoshiyori, the site preserves baileys, gateways and a water moat over some 600 m east–west. In 2012 it was designated a National Historic Site (as part of the "Satomi Clan Castle Sites," with Inamura Castle) and is now maintained as Satomi Park. It features on the "Bōshū Tei-meizan" and "Bōsō Sangakushi" lists.
