Mount Sawa

Mount Sawa is a 233 m hill rising north of Hikone Station in Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture, the historic site of Sawayama Castle held by Ishida Mitsunari in the late Sengoku period. The castle was abandoned after the Battle of Sekigahara, and today a maintained hiking trail leads to the summit, with views of Hikone Castle and Lake Biwa. The peak is listed in the Ōmi 100 Mountains and the Ōmi 70 Mountain Castles.
