Mount Oninome

A 1491m peak in Kitakata, Nobeoka City, Miyazaki Prefecture, in the Sobo-Katamuki-Okue mountain system. The mountain hosts Kyushu's only natural cedar grove on the main island, and in early July the tsuchibinoki — a plant found nowhere else in the world — blooms here. The mountain forms the headwaters of the Shishigawa Gorge.
