Mount Monomi is the 135 m highpoint of the Hiki Hills in Iwadono, Higashimatsuyama City, Saitama Prefecture, also known as Mount Iwadono. The slopes hold Shōhō-ji, the tenth Bandō Sanjūsan-Kannon pilgrimage temple known as Iwadono Kannon, and tradition holds that the peak's name dates to General Sakanoue no Tamuramaro, who is said to have climbed it to survey the surrounds during an eastern campaign. The summit is laid out as Monomiyama Park, planted with some 40,000 azaleas, and the wider scene was designated a Saitama Prefecture Place of Scenic Beauty in 1922.
