Mount Kojō

Mount Kojō (Kojōsan) is a 407 m hill in Yamagata City, Gifu Prefecture, named for the ruins of Ōga Castle, the seat of the Toki clan who served as shugo of Mino Province from the Muromachi through Sengoku periods. Stone walls, baileys, and other castle remains share the summit with a miniature replica keep, and the lookout offers panoramic views of Mount Kinka in Gifu and the Nagoya skyline, with seas of clouds visible at dawn in late autumn. Two routes—the Kojōsan trailhead (about 2.1 km, 60–90 min) and the Hajikami Forest Road trailhead (about 750 m, 20–30 min)—provide access, and the mountain is featured in the "Zoku Gifu Hyakuzan" list.
