Mount Gongen

Mount Gongen is a sharp, freestanding 952.7 m peak rising east of central Uwajima City, Ehime Prefecture, and is one of the summits of the Onigajo Range — also known as the Nanyo Alps. A small shrine known locally as 'Gongen-sama' stands near the summit, and the peak commands wide views of the ria coastline of the Uwa Sea, the city of Uwajima, and on clear days even Kyushu in the distance. It is included in the Ehime Prefectural Mountain Guide and the Ehime Yuyu Yamaaruki guide.
