Unstaffed hut at about 1,550m on the ridge at the midpoint of the Tsugami-shindo, the roughly 27km traverse linking Oyashirazu on the Sea of Japan with Asahidake. It holds about 40 people and blankets are provided, but there is no water, so drinking water must be collected at springs along the trail. It is not a commercial hut: the local Tsugami Gakuyukai maintains it together with the trail, and users are asked to put a 2,000 yen contribution per person into the box inside. Leaving Asahi Goya in the morning brings walkers here around midday, and the hut can also be used as an emergency shelter in winter.
