Unstaffed emergency shelter on the summit of Ogino-sen (1,310m) in Hyonosen-Ushiroyama-Nagisan Quasi-National Park, at Moroga, Wakasa Town, Yazu District, Tottori Prefecture. Google Places lists it as "Ogino-sen Otsukare-yama Hinangoya". Ogino-sen is named for a summit shaped like an open fan; its middle slopes hold highlands, deep ravines and waterfalls amid natural beech forest. The top where the shelter stands opens to a 360-degree view taking in Daisen, Lake Koyama, the city of Tottori and the Sea of Japan. Tottori Prefecture gives the climb as 1 hour 40 minutes from the Kawaidani trailhead and 1 hour 30 minutes each from the Himeji, Furusato-no-Mori and Hatagahira trailheads; some of the access roads are unpaved and need careful driving, and climbing in bad weather is described as very dangerous. Asian black bears, Japanese dormice, golden eagles, mountain hawk-eagles and northern goshawks live in the area, along with Luehdorfia japonica and the great purple emperor, Japan's national butterfly. The vegetation ranges from beech, Mongolian oak and cedar to maples such as Acer japonicum and Acer pictum, and Streptopus streptopoides, a northern species, grows nowhere else in Tottori Prefecture.
