Unstaffed emergency shelter at about 1,260m just below the summit of Komanoo-san (1,280.7m) in Hyonosen-Ushiroyama-Nagisan Quasi-National Park, Ushiroyama, Mimasaka City, Okayama Prefecture. On the Chugoku Nature Trail it appears as "Komanoo-san junction (shelter)": the end point of "the path for views of Ushiroyama, Okayama's highest peak, and its nature", which traverses in from the Ushiroyama side, and the start of "the path for forest bathing in the Wakasugi primeval forest" heading north to the Wakasugi natural forest. The former runs 3.1km and 70 minutes from Kobushi-no-Sato Ushiroyama to the Gomado Nyonindo, 2.0km and 40 minutes to the Ushiroyama campground, 2.0km and 60 minutes to the Funakiyama junction and 2.2km and 50 minutes to this hut — 9.3km and 3h40m in all — with a 0.9km, 30-minute detour from the Funakiyama junction to Ushiroyama (1,344.6m), the highest peak in Okayama Prefecture. The latter begins here with 2.1km and 50 minutes to Daruganaru. From the summit of Komanoo-san you can see Funakiyama and Ushiroyama to the east, Nagisan to the west, and as far as the Seto Inland Sea and Shodoshima to the south; besides the Chugoku Nature Trail running north and east, trails also lead west and south. Okayama Prefecture warns of bears on the climb from the Ushiroyama campground to Funakiyama and Komanoo-san.
