Unstaffed emergency shelter on the summit of Mt. Iwasuge at 2,295m, deep in the Shiga Kogen highlands of Yamanouchi Town, Nagano. Nagano Prefecture's mountain hut portal lists its location as "Iwasuge summit, 2,295m" and its opening as "year-round (unstaffed)," with Yamanouchi town hall as the contact. It stands on a ridge with wide views over the peaks of Shiga Kogen, and the trails around it are used for ridge traverses from summer into autumn. No official information on facilities or capacity exists, so water, food and bedding must be carried in.
