夜叉神峠小屋

Mountain hut at 1,790m on the top of Yashajin Pass, on the front ranges of the Southern Alps. The pass is known as a viewpoint for the Shirane Sanzan — Kitadake, Ainodake and Notoridake — with a line of sight reaching as far as Kamikochidake in the south of the range. It is only about an hour up from the Yashajin trailhead, so day hikers crowd the ground in front, while through-walkers use it as the start of the Hoo Sanzan traverse. The hut takes 20 guests by reservation and has a designated campsite for 15 tents. There is no water at the hut and the spring is far off, so water must be carried up. It opens daily over Golden Week and from mid-July, mainly at weekends in spring and early summer, and is closed at other times.
