From the Kokugonji trailhead in Nakano, this return passes the Tengu stepping stone, a Hachiman shrine and the inner shrine of Kosha Shrine, climbs a path lined with stone Buddhas and crosses a short chained section to the 1,351 m summit of Mount Kosha. Called the Takai Fuji for its shapely twin summits and long revered, it gives views over the five peaks of northern Shinano and the Northern Alps.
