This loop starts at Ebino Plateau, climbs Mount Karakuni—the highest peak in the Kirishima range—and returns by circling Lake Onami. From the 1,700 m summit, the Kirishima mountains spread out below; the descent passes the Karakuni shelter before reaching the crater rim of Lake Onami. It combines a deep-blue crater lake and surrounding forest in Kirishima-Kinkowan National Park.
