This loop leaves Otsuki Station, passes Koyose on the way to the Hatakura trailhead, climbs Mount Iwadono, and follows the rocky ridge through Kabutoiwa, Mount Tenjin, and Chigo-otoshi before descending toward Asari and returning to the station. The Mount Iwadono viewpoint overlooks central Otsuki toward Mount Fuji, while Chigo-otoshi is distinguished by its sheer rock face. The damaged traverse near Kabutoiwa is closed, so follow local signs onto the forest bypass.
