From Chojabaru in the Kuju range, this return climbs via the Sugamori Pass to the west peak of Mimatayama, follows the rim around the Onabe and Konabe crater hollows to the 1,745 m main peak and Peak IV, and returns via the pass to Chojabaru. The name is said to come from its appearance as three peaks from every direction, the open summits bloom with Miyama-kirishima azaleas and iwakagami, and the crater walls glow in autumn.
