From the base station of the Hobashira cable car in Yahatahigashi, Kitakyushu, this return skips the ride and climbs on foot to 622 m Mount Sarakura in the Hobashira range of Kitakyushu Quasi-National Park. The summit is known for a panorama of about 200 degrees named among Japan's new top three night views, and the name is said to come from Empress Jingu remarking on the way down that it had grown darker still.
