This out-and-back route starts on the Miyayama side of Nishihara Village and crosses the open grassland of Aso's southern caldera rim to Ichinomine and Ninomine. After reaching Ichinomine, it drops briefly along the ridge and climbs to the rockier summit of Ninomine before returning the same way.
