This East Odaigahara circuit climbs from the visitor-center area to Hinodegatake, the plateau's highest point, then visits Masaki Pass, Ushiishigahara, Daijagura and Shiokara Valley. Boardwalks cross open bamboo-grass country and standing dead trees before Daijagura projects above an 800-metre cliff with a panorama of the Ōmine range.
