This roughly 16 km traverse starts at the Amagi Kogen trailhead, crosses Banjiro-dake and Banzaburo-dake, at 1,406 m the highest point of the Izu Peninsula, and continues past Katase Pass and Kodake to Hatcho Pond, the Eye of Amagi, before descending to Amagi Pass. The ridge runs through beech and Japanese stewartia forest and stands of Amagi rhododendron to the quiet shores of a pond formed by faulting.
