Sado City Daira Ski Area trail map
Daira is the only ski area on Sado Island, set high on the Osado mountains above the Kanai district. A single pair chairlift serves six short runs, from gentle slopes to the advanced Jet Line, plus a kids' corner. Island schools hold their ski lessons here, so it is a simple, family-oriented hill used mostly by locals. The access road belongs to the Self-Defense Forces, and drivers must phone from a box at the gate and follow its signals going up and down. On weekends and holidays a free shuttle bus runs from Sado City Hall.

Bus
- Sado City Hall (main building) → Sado City Taira Ski Area Niigata Kotsu Sado · Saturdays, Sundays and holidays · Free shuttle bus. Reservation required (Niigata Kotsu Sado 0259-52-3200, by 17:00 the day before; desk open 9:30–17:00). From City Hall 8:30 and 10:30 / from the ski area 13:30 and 16:15
