Big Air Fukuoka Closed
Official name ビッグエア福岡
Fukuoka
Open 1999–2009
Big Air Fukuoka was an indoor, snowboard-only snow slope inside the Bayside Place Hakata Futo waterfront complex in Hakata, Fukuoka. Built by NKK at the end of 1999 using snowmaking know-how from its SSAWS indoor ski dome in Funabashi, it kept a slope 30 m wide and 60 m long at minus 3 degrees so riders could practise on snow all year, with a café and a viewing stand alongside. It was a rare place to ride in Kyushu until it closed on 20 July 2009 because of a redevelopment plan for Bayside Place.
