An approximately 677-meter independent peak in the Abukuma Mountains, straddling the border of Sukagawa City and Koriyama City in Fukushima Prefecture. The summit area preserves the ruins of a 14th-century mountain fortress used by the Southern Court during the Nanboku-cho period, designated a National Historic Site in 1934. The mountain is climbable in about an hour via several trailheads such as Shimin-no-Mori, Shiota, and Babahira, and a yamabiraki opening ceremony is held annually on April 29. It is included in the Utsukushima Hyakumeizan, the Fukushima-ken no Yama prefectural climbing guide, and the Shin Utsukushima Hyakumeizan lists.
