Mt. Shirataki

A 226-meter peak in Shigei, Innoshima Island, Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. About 700 stone Buddha statues known as the Gohyaku Rakan, carved in the late Edo period by the merchant Denroku Kashiwabara and his disciples, line the path from the gate to the summit, which offers panoramic views over the Seto Inland Sea. Once used as a lookout by the Innoshima branch of the Murakami sea-pirate clan, it is listed in both Shimayama Hyakusen and Nihon Hyaku-Fuji.
