Mount Aokage (276 m) rises in the centre of Innoshima Island, Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, with the remains of Aokage Castle — the chief stronghold of the Innoshima-Murakami pirate clan from the late Kamakura period into the Sengoku era — at its summit. The 5-kilometre ridge linking Aokage with Mount Oku and Mount Kannon, dubbed the 'Innoshima Alps', is a designated scenic viewpoint of Setonaikai National Park. The peak is listed in the Hiroshima Prefecture 100 Mountains and the Hiroshima prefectural climbing guide.
