Ouzasan (527 m) rises in the center of the Murotsu Peninsula, which juts into the Seto Inland Sea, in Kaminoseki Town, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Its name, 'the mountain where the emperor sat,' comes from a legend that Emperor Antoku rested at its summit during the Genpei War, and historic sites from that era remain near the top. A driveway reaches close to the summit, which commands sweeping views of the Kaminoseki Strait and the islands of the Seto Inland Sea, and on clear days as far as Shikoku and Kyushu. It is listed among the Yamaguchi 100 Mountains and the Bocho 100 Mountains.
