Mt. Mineyama, 570 m, rises in the former Makino district of Sagamihara City's Midori Ward (Kanagawa Prefecture) and is No. 8 of the 'Fujino 15 Famous Mountains' selected by the Fujino Tourism Association. The flat summit holds a small shrine to Yamato-Takeru-no-Mikoto, reached by four pilgrim trails that climb from each cardinal direction; three weathered stone monuments to the deities of wind, dragon and water stand just below the top. The mountain commands a clear view of Mt. Fuji, and a popular descent leads down to the Fujino Yamanami-onsen hot spring, making it a favoured short-day hike from JR Fujino Station.
