Mt. Makurayama

A 371.7 m peak on the border of Unnan and Matsue in Shimane, locally also known as Marukurayama. Together with neighboring Daihirayama and Yaeyama it forms the Hataya Sanzan, three peaks that line up neatly when viewed from the Unnan side. The trailhead lies near Hataya Community Center in Daitō-chō, Unnan, and the summit is reached in about 30 minutes, opening views of Lake Shinji and the Shimane Peninsula to the north and the Chūgoku Mountains to the south. The peak is one of Shimane Prefecture's selected 36 famous mountains.
