Mt. Kishidake

Mount Kishidake is a 320-meter peak straddling the border between the Kitahata and Ouchi districts of Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture. Its summit area preserves the ruins of Kishidake Castle, a medieval mountain fortress and prefecturally designated historic site that served as the stronghold of the Hata clan of the Matsuura federation for roughly 450 years. Also regarded as a birthplace of Karatsu ware pottery, it is featured in the Saga Prefecture mountain guide (佐賀県の山).
