Ishigamisan is a 1,038.1 m sacred peak in Tōno City, Iwate Prefecture. Together with Mt. Hayachine and Mt. Rokkōshi it forms the 'Tōno Sanzan,' the trio of mountains revered in the goddess legends recorded in Yanagita Kunio's *Tales of Tōno*, where it appears as 'Ishigamisan / Ishigami-yama.' Long a Shugendō training site closed to women, the mountain is climbed today via a rugged ridge of chains and iron ladders that begins near Ishigami Shrine at its foot. The peak is included in the Iwate Hyakumeizan, the Iwate-no-Yama 150 and Nihon-no-Yama 1000.
