Mt. Hobashira is a 488 m peak in Yahata-Higashi Ward of Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka, one of the four summits of the Hobashira Range together with Mt. Sarakura (622 m), Mt. Gongen (617 m), and Mt. Hanao (351 m). The range lies within Kitakyushu Quasi-National Park and the Kitakyushu Recreational Forest. The name comes from a tradition that Empress Jingū took timber from this mountain to make the masts ("hobashira") of her warships during her overseas campaign; the Sarakura–Hobashira environmental forest now offers a network of family-friendly trails close to the urban center.
