Mount Ryuo

Mount Ryuo is a 604.6 m granite mountain in southern Ritto City, Shiga Prefecture. Near the summit is a small shrine to the eight dragon kings, traditionally regarded as protectors of Konsho-ji Temple. The ridge features unusual rocks such as Tengu-iwa and Mimi-iwa, with views over Lake Biwa and the Omi Plain. Hiking routes maintained by Ritto City connect the mountain with historic sites on its slopes, including the Heian-era mountain temple Konsho-ji and the Komasaka cliff Buddha, a National Historic Site.
