Mifuneyama is a 207 m mountain in Takeo City, Saga Prefecture, also called Tosenzan because its outline resembles a Chinese trading ship. At its western foot lies Mifuneyama Rakuen, a 150,000-tsubo garden laid out in 1845 by Nabeshima Shigeyoshi, the 28th lord of Takeo, and registered as a National Registered Monument in February 2010. It is known for 2,000 cherry trees in late March, 200,000 azaleas and wisteria from mid-April to early May, and autumn colour. Rock climbing and hill walking on the mountain have been prohibited since the monument registration.
