Hut at about 625m on the northern slope of Mt. Oritsume (852m), in Dai-33-chiwari Sannai, Karumai Town, Kunohe District, Iwate. Mt. Oritsume is a prefectural natural park spanning Ninohe City, Karumai Town and Kunohe Village, and its summit observation deck looks out to Mt. Iwate, the Hakkoda range and the Pacific; it is also one of Tohoku's notable habitats for the Himebotaru firefly. On the mid-slope is Millet Park, with a handmade-soba restaurant, eight cottages and a campground, and nearby are the Dake-no-Wakkutsu spring — one of Iwate's twenty finest waters — and the Oritsume hiking trail. No description of this hut itself appears in Karumai Town or Iwate Prefecture publications, so its size and terms of use are unknown.
