Hut at about 1115m on Bunahira, the junction between Mt. Dainichi (1368m) — the highest peak in Komatsu City, Ishikawa — and Mt. Suzugadake. Officially named the Dainichiyama Nature Study House, it serves hikers as a place for nature observation and as an emergency shelter, with no resident caretaker. Broad mountain views open up in front of the hut, and katakuri (Japanese dogtooth violet) flowers bloom around it in spring. The Shinbo trailhead, about 80 minutes by car from JR Komatsu Station, has parking; another route climbs from Masago in Kaga City. The area is an Ishikawa prefectural nature park covered in old-growth beech forest.
