From the car park near the top in Kinpo, Minamisatsuma, this short walk passes near Kinpo Shrine, dedicated to Zao Gongen, and visits all three summits: the 636 m main peak, the east peak and the north peak. Counted with Kaimondake and Nomadake among the three famous mountains of the Satsuma Peninsula and once a site of mountain asceticism, it is also called Bijin-dake for a ridge resembling a reclining woman, and looks out to Sakurajima, Fukiage Beach and Cape Noma.
