From the Kobotoke bus stop in Hachioji, this loop passes Hojuji temple to the Kagenobu trailhead, climbs steeply through conifers to a broadleaf ridge and the 727 m Mount Kagenobu, then descends toward Kobotoke Pass and returns along the slope. A peak on the Oku-Takao ridge trail, it has summit tea huts known for nameko mushroom soup, and the lookout faces the Kanto Plain, Lake Sagami and Mount Fuji.
