From Kurumayama-kata on Kirigamine, this highland loop climbs Kurumayama (1,925 m), the plateau's highest point, then goes from Kurumayama-nokkoshi over the South and North Ears to Mount Onakura, known as the Zebra Hills, and returns via Monomi Rock and Chochomiyama. It follows rolling grassland near 2,000 m, quieter beyond Kurumayama, with open views to the southern Yatsugatake.
