On Hachijo Fuji, or Nishiyama, in the northwest of Hachijo Island, this route climbs 1,280 steps from the seventh-station trailhead to the crater rim, reaches the 854 m summit, the highest point of the Izu Islands, visits the Sengen Shrine inside the crater, and returns. Named for its Fuji-like cone, it gives a full circle of views from the rim over the Pacific and Hachijo-kojima.
