This short return climbs from a trailhead about 500 m east of JR Banshu-Ako Station along the tracks to the 253 m Mount Otakadai, one of the Hyogo 100 Mountains. Some 1,000 dodan azaleas planted along a former firebreak line the trail, and the open ridge and summit look over the town of Ako, the Ieshima Islands, Shodoshima and Awaji Island.
